PRESS RELEASE - Day 3 of the Inter Secondary Schools Table Tennis competition saw action at the Castries Table Tennis Centre.
Group 14 saw St.Mary’s College(C) Team winning over both the Vide Boutielle Secondary School and the Castries Comprehensive (A) Team in straight sets to top their group. C.C.S.S (A) team also defeated the Vide Boutielle Secondary (B) team in straight sets.
St.Mary’s College (A) Team cruised to victory in straight sets over the Corinth Secondary (B) Team to top Group 1.
Group 9 witnessed a tightly contested match between Corinth Secondary (A) team and International (B) team at the International Gym.
Michel Georgeos secured 2 victories for International School, Davie Joseph and Joel Charles both won matches to equalize the match at 2-2.
The deciding game was the doubles event and although the Corinth team put the pressure by winning the first set, the International School handled the pressure well to bounce back with a blow out in the second set and a narrow victory in the deciding set to win overall 3-2 and earn a spot to the main stage in December.
Group 6 had a similar close encounter between the George Charles Secondary and the Ciceron Secondary.
Both teams fought hard and the match went to the final event (the doubles). George Charles Secondary got the better of Ciceron Secondary to win 3-2 and book their spot in December.
