BOSL 2014 T20 Cricket bowls off

PRESS RELEASE - It will be boundaries and sixes galore when the 2014 BOSL T20 Cricket Competition Kicks off at the Dennery Playing Field on Saturday November 8th from 10:00 a.m.

It’s the 3rd consecutive year that Bank of Saint Lucia is partnering with the National Cricket Association in hosting the Tournament.The premier event continues to be a big draw for local cricket fans and serves as a platform for the rising stars of the game in St. Lucia.

Twelve teams representing communities across the island will compete in this year’s Tournament.

Matches will take place at the Dennery Playing Field and the Mindoo Philip Park.

The Tournament also offers a number of incentives to players including awards for Man of the Match, Most Sixes, Most Runs, Longest Six, Most Wickets and Man of the Series.

Assistant Manager – Corporate Communications, Omari Frederick explained that the support of sports is a natural one for Bank of Saint Lucia, as the institution views developing sports at the community level as a critical element of its national development agenda.

He said: “The economic and social value of a sport like cricket to St. Lucia cannot be understated. We want to encourage cricket fans, friends, family and members of the community tocome out in largenumbers to support the Tournament. The teams are hyped and ready to take to the field. It will be an exciting T20 competition.”

Teams will be gunning for team Mon Repos who are the defending Champions, having defeated Gros Islet by 65 runsin the Finals last year.
