Commercial League Basketball week 3 results

There were victories for both the Royal St. Lucia Police Force and St. Lucia Fire Service over Insurance All Stars and Renwick & Company respectively on Friday.

In game one, the police force, led by Calious Dantes with 14pts and 9steals, got their second victory in as many games with a huge 58 – 26 double digit win.

Karlinus Augustin also chipped in with 11pts and 8rebs for the police.

Game 2 on Friday’s double header showcased the impressive Fire Service team against the unbeaten Renwick and Company. Fire Service proved too much in the end with a 67 – 38 win to put them a perfect 3-0 in Group A.

A near triple double for Marcian Calderon held joint top scoring for Fire Service with a tally of 19pts, 9rebs and 8steals and Owen Cazaubon also contributed 19pts and 8rebs. For Renwick, Joel Polius had a huge night on the boards posting Dwight Howard-like figures of 23rebs to go with 12pts but was not enough to get them past the Fire Service.

Saturday November 16

On Saturday, defense was on top in the first game of the evening when the Media Association took the court versus ECFH. Third time was a charm for ECFH when they won their first game in their third attempt 32 – 29. Kurt Hyacinth recorded 20pts and bagged 2steals for ECFH in their win. Elijah Williams again for Media led the scoring with 15pts and 10rebs in their loss.

Game two of the night entertained right till the end with Sandals edging out Goddard Group St. Lucia with a final score of 45-42. With the game tied at 42 apiece late, we seemed poised to witness the first overtime game of the tournament.

Miguel Chicot had other plans when he converted one of two free throws to give Sandals the lead and Casim James finished with an aggressive move to the basket to extend the lead and seal the win for his team. Jim Medard finished with 14pts and 7steals and Casim James had 12pts, 10rebs and 7steals for Sandals. Dillan Biscette had 17pts and 15rebs for Goddard Group in their second successive defeat.
